Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris (born October 20 1964) was an American politician, attorney and vice president of the United States. She is the first woman elected vice president and also holds the title of most powerful female officer in the history of America. As a member of the Democratic Party, she was the attorney general of California from 2011 to 2017 and she was a United States senator representing California in 2017-2021. Harris was born in Oakland, California. She graduated from Howard University as well as the University of California Hastings College of the Law. Following her first job as an Alameda County District Attorney, Harris was enlisted to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. Then she was appointed the City Attorney of San Francisco. In 2003 she was elected as the district attorney of San Francisco. In 2010, Harris was appointed Attorney General for California. Harris was elected again in 2014. Harris was the junior United States Senate from California between 2017 and 2021. Harris beat Loretta Martinez in the 2016 Senate election, becoming the second African American woman and first South Asian American senator to be elected to the United States Senate. As a senator she advocated health reform, federal descholaring of cannabis, a pathway for immigrants who are not legal citizens and the DREAM Act and a ban on assault weapons. She also backed progressive tax reform. She is best known for her sharp questions to Trump administration officials in Senate hearings.
